DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - United Airlines posted the best on-time arrival rate among Denver International Airport's three biggest airlines in October, for the fourth straight month and the seventh month of the last eight.
But nationwide, United ranked as having the second-highest rate of consumer complaints among 16 major airlines in October, with Denver-based Frontier Airlines posting the highest rate of complaints, the U.S. Department of Transportation reported Thursday.
United scored an 85.2 percent on-time rate at DIA for its 3,705 arriving flights during the month, according to the DOT's monthly Air Travel Consumer Report.
United is DIA's No. 1 carrier by passenger counts, while Southwest Airlines is No. 2 and Frontier is No. 3.
Frontier finished second among DIA's Big 3 airlines with a 80.9 percent on-time rate for its 3,191 arriving planes during the month, while Southwest was third with a 79.4 percent on-time rate for 4,945 arriving flights.
