ARAPAHOE COUNTY- Hundreds of students, parents and community members filled Arapahoe Park on Saturday evening.
Students organized a candlelight vigil to support each other and to pray for 17-year-old Claire Davis.
Those who know Davis say she is the light of their school. She knows how to make people smile and has a heart of gold. When friends found out she was the one shot at point blank range, they were devastated and didn't want to believe it was true.
"It didn't feel real until you see everybody and you're like this really did happen. She was a good friend and was always there if you needed her," said Summer Skrzypek.
Along with lit candles, students sang the Arapahoe High School fight song while reminding each other that Warriors stick together.
Students shouted out words of encouragement, held a moment of silence and said the Lord's prayer while holding on to each other.
They plan to hold another prayer vigil at Arapahoe High School on Sunday afternoon. They're also collecting donations to support Claire and her family.
