AURORA - Aurora police say one man has been shot by police after an early morning standoff in the 1700 block of Jamaica Street.
Police were called to the home around 5 a.m. for a domestic dispute.
The female who called police said she felt threatened by a man at the house with a shotgun. She told police the man had left the home.
When officers got to the area they spotted the man's car a few blocks away and followed him back to the house on Jamaica Street.
Police say the man refused to get out of his car leading to a standoff with officers for 40 minutes.
During the standoff, police said the man was uncooperative and eventually aimed his shotgun at officers. That's when police say they fired their weapons.
The man was taken to the hospital. Officers said the man is expected to survive.
No officers were hurt in the shooting.
