KUSA- New wreaths are adorning the graves of veterans at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

9NEWS viewer Trent Welander attended the event and says hundreds of volunteers came out to place the wreaths on graves.

The tradition began in 1992 when the owner of a wreath company ended up with extra wreaths and shipped them to Arlington National Cemetery.

This year, the nonprofit Wreaths Across America expects to ship more than 500,000 wreaths to adorn veterans' graves across the country and overseas.
