BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo police say a city plow driver was arrested Sunday morning for operating a plow while under the influence, and crashing into a building and a cab driver.

According to police, James Evans, 47, of Buffalo, was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an injury accident, criminal mischief and other charges.

Officials say that Evans hit a building near the intersection of Bailey Avenue and Arden Avenue at about 5 a.m. Sunday morning. A short time later, he struck a cab driver near Eggert Road and Kay Street.

Police say the cab driver was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken left hand.

Evans was arraigned in Buffalo City Court Monday morning. His license has been suspended, and bail was set at $20,000.

Evans has been suspended without pay from his job, pending a departmental review.
