BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The warning that poinsettias are poisonous to cats has been around for years, but it apparently is not true.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says poinsettias do not pose any toxic threat to pets.
However there are some Christmas plants that you do need to keep away from your pets. Doctor Horgan, a veterinarian, says Holly and Mistletoe are both toxic to them.
And at other times of year, lilies - especially Easter lilies - are very toxic to animals. But As for Poinsettias - don't worry. And if you have doubts, ask your own vet.
