WELD COUNTY - Weld County's Sheriff's deputies are investigating two teens who allegedly possessed a firearm at Mead High School on Dec. 14.
According to authorities, one of the teen's parents informed the Sheriff's Office when they found out their child had a firearm that did not belong to them.
Authorities say one teen brought the firearms and ammunition to school and allegedly gave it to another teen.
The sheriff's office reports both students had the firearm for portions of the day, however based off of the investigation, neither one of the students planned on any violent behavior at school.
Both of the students have been taken out of Mead High School to make sure the students and faculty members are safe.
Authorities will not be releasing any names in this case due to their age.
