Theft ring dismantled in Jefferson County

GOLDEN - A theft ring operating in the Denver metro area has been indicted on 127 counts.

The indictment was filed on Dec. 10. Six men and two women are accused of operating a theft ring between October 2012 and February 2013. They are accused of stealing $114,178.

According to police, the theft ring would break into convenience stores and liquor stores and steal cigarettes, liquor and other merchandise, sometimes hitting multiple businesses a night. During a five-month period, they hit 42 businesses. Some businesses were burglarized more than once. The businesses were all over the metro area and included locations in Lakewood, Wheat Ridge and Arvada.

  • Estevan Valverde, 20
  • Alex Flores, 19
  • Amber Gallegos, 21
  • Daniel Henderson, 21
  • Natasha Robles, 23
  • Demetrius Ware, 20

Duran is the alleged leader of the ring. Seven of the eight have been arrested. There is an outstanding warrant for Valverde.
