DENVER - Friday, Dec. 20 is expected to be the busiest day this week at Denver International Airport, and Friday, the 27th is looking to be just as busy.
DIA officials say on an average day, 145,000 passengers pass through Denver's airport. Here's what DIA is projecting passenger traffic to look like over the next week:
Thursday, Dec. 19: 164,467
Friday, Dec. 20: 171,694
Saturday, Dec. 21: 161,060
Sunday, Dec. 22: 156,964
Monday, Dec. 23: 163,300
DIA suggests travelers be inside the airport two hours prior to flight departure, to allow for plenty of time to make it to the gate.
Remember TSA may open wrapped packages, so don't wrap gifts until you arrive at your destination.
Parking fills up first in the economy lots. If you use Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert shuttle lots, make sure to allow an extra 30 minutes.
