Car thief rams into Aurora police vehicle

AURORA - Police are looking for three people who assaulted an Aurora police officer by ramming into a police cruiser with a stolen car Friday morning.

Police were attempting to stop the car in the area of East Colfax Avenue and North Moline Street when the incident occurred.

The stolen 2003 silver Honda Accord was used to ram the officer's car as the suspect drove from the scene. It was reported stolen from Denver earlier this month.

Photos of the vehicle taken at the time of the incident show a Hispanic man behind the wheel and two female passengers.

The East Metro Auto Theft Team is offering to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and successful prosecution of the driver.
