CENTENNIAL - Claire Davis is still in a coma, listed in critical condition at Littleton Adventist Hospital. Outside the hospital, support for her continues to grow.
Tuesday night, students, parents and complete strangers lit candles to illuminate the hundreds of notes written on a fence-sized piece of paper draped outside the school.
"There are people from all over coming out to show support for her," said Tom Hausman, a senior at nearby Cherokee Creek.
How to support the Claire Davis family
Hausman and his friend Sammy Landau never met Claire, but they felt compelled to come out and show their support.
"It's something you want to come out to and show your respect for and see," Landau said.
"There's a lot to learn about Claire and the community here," Hausman added.
Most people only stopped by for a few minutes; enough time to say a prayer or to leave something behind.
The hospital says nearly 100 cards and notes were sent to the 17-year-old's hospital room Tuesday.
On top of that, $1,500 in donations were made in her name to support youth mental health programs.
