KUSA - Franklin Morales is returning to the Colorado Rockies, the team announced Wednesday, after a trade sending Jonathan Herrera to Boston.

The Rockies also on Wednesday added outfielder Drew Stubbs from Cleveland in exchange for left-hander Josh Outman.

Morales, 27, made his debut with the Rockies in 2007 and was traded to the Red Sox in 2011. The left-hander was 7-11 with the Rockies and overall is 13-18 with a 4.38 ERA and 11 saves in 281.1 innings.

The Rockies signed Morales in 2002 as a free agent out of Venezuela. Last season, he was 2-2 with a 4.62 ERA in 20 games for the World Series champion Red Sox. He was a rookie with the Rockies when they made their run to the World Series in 2007.

Stubbs, who was the eighth overall pick by Cincinnati in the 2006 draft, hit .233 last season in Cleveland and .239 in the past five seasons. The 29-year-old right-fielder was traded to Cleveland after the 2012 season.

In past five seasons, Herrera has hit .265 in 375 games with the Rockies playing in the infield.

In addition to Herrera, the Rockies also picked up minor-league pitcher Chris Martin from Boston. Martin, 27, was 5-3 last season in the minors.
