Tougher DUI laws coming for Colorado

DENVER - Colorado's DUI laws will be tougher in 2014.

Starting on Jan. 1, 2014, any Colorado driver who refuses a sobriety test will be branded a "persistent drunk driver."

If they want their driver's license back, they would be required to hook a breathalyzer to their car to start it and stay off the road for at least two months.

Currently, 20 states require an ignition interlock device for first-time offenders.
