DOLORES COUNTY - More than any other business this time of year, post offices find themselves busy beyond belief. Unless, of course, you're a post office in a small town.

The population of Cahone, Colorado is only a few hundred. Despite being a small community, you'll find plenty of residents with really large hearts.

The Cahone Post office is considered the heart of the town; the one place where residents flock to, to do business.

"There are a lot of nice people around here," Cahone Postmaster Joe Tracy said.

Tracy was hired as the town's postmaster only a few months ago. Before that, he worked in the seismic industry in Colorado and around the rest of the country.

Tracy left a high paying job to take the part-time gig in Cahone.

Why?

"I wanted to spend more time with my kids," he said.

Tracy grew up spending a lot of time with his parents. He wanted his kids to have the same experience. In a world where careers drive lives, Tracy decided to put his life in park and enjoy any time he could with his children.

"They mean the world to me," Tracy added.
