KUSA - Wes Welker will not play in the Broncos game Sunday against the Texans, Jay Glazer reported.

The wide receiver also was absent in Denver's loss versus San Diego after suffering his second concussion of the season the week before. Welker has yet to participate in practice with the team this week.

"Wes is a really good player and he's a hard guy to replace," offensive coordinator Adam Gase said Thursday. Wide receiver Andre Caldwell and tight end Jacob Tamme will likely get additional playing time while Welker is out. "But we've got a good group of guys that can fill in."

Welker is one of Peyton Manning's favorite targets this season. He's caught 73 passes for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns.
