LOVELAND - Police seek suspects in the death of a Loveland woman found beaten and strangled in her home Wednesday afternoon on the 1500 block of North Jefferson Avenue.
The body of Christina Gray, 42, was found at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. Police don't believe there's a threat to the public but and are "confident" anyone involved with the crime will be found "as promptly as possible," according to a Loveland Police Department news release.
Several houses on the block remained taped off for the investigation on Thursday, since the body was discovered by two people who'd been sent to check on Gray. Police were at the woman's home sometime in the past 30 days but aren't releasing the nature of the visit, Sgt. Justin Chase said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Loveland PD at (970) 962-2032.
This is the agency's first homicide investigation since a deputy coroner in July 2011 was found to have shot his father during a family dispute on the 900 block of Daphne Drive. The Larimer County District Attorney's Office later found the homicide justifiable.
Gray's death is the second homicide in the Loveland area this year after the stabbing death of Stephanie Rose Smith, 40, on the 4000 block of West Eisenhower Boulevard. Smith and Casey Lee Albee, 28, were believed to have attacked a Loveland man after following him home from a party, and the Larimer County Sheriff's Office investigation led to assault charges against Albee.
