KUSA - 9NEWS medical reporter Dr. John Torres shared the top nine dirtiest places and things to avoid touching, especially over this holiday weekend when plenty people are sick and out and about.
Dr. John says bathroom sinks, specifically the faucet handles, carry a lot of germs. People touch the handles before and after they have washed their hands.
He also warns that food court tables tend to be quite dirty. The tables are usually not washed down thoroughly.
Dr. John says he tries to not touch escalator handrails.
He adds ATM key pads, toy stores, fitting rooms, gadget shops, make-up samples and signature pens.
Dr. John says this is not a "don't go shopping" warning but a be cautious message and keep your hands out of your face and clean.
