KUSA - Despite missing practice Thursday, Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson will play against the Suns.

Head coach Brian Shaw said he felt comfortable putting Denver's leading scorer (21.2 points per game) and leader in that position even as he continues to recover from the stomach flu.

"He's probably a little weak, but he'll take the rest of the afternoon to relax and get ready for the game," Shaw said following shoot around. Lawson is slated to start as well.

"But I see no problem with him getting out there and getting ready to go," he continued.

The coaching staff will keep a close eye on Lawson as the game gets started. Depending on how the point guard feels - and how the game progresses, the Nuggets have lost to Phoenix already twice this season - will determine how many minutes Shaw will keep him on the floor.
