A look at what the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans said Sunday about Peyton Manning's record 51 touchdown passes this season:
John Fox, Broncos coach: "It was great. To see a guy that has worked as hard as he has a lot of his career, and I know for a fact that the two seasons we've had him, almost two seasons, are pretty remarkable and really exciting to be around. To see a guy that goes about his business like he does get rewarded with success."
Manny Ramirez, Broncos center: "It's definitely very special. The man works at it every day and he's professional about it. He and the receivers all go over it every day and work on those things. So, it's a great accomplishment and he deserves it."
Julius Thomas, Broncos tight end: "I've said it all year, in this room we're not surprised at what Peyton does. The work he puts in everyday, you see how he demands the best from himself. Fortunate for us, we're the beneficiaries of that. A guy slinging the ball around at a very high level and we're extremely happy for him and it's a great accomplishment."
Eric Decker, Broncos wide receiver: "It's special to be a part of. You never dream to be a part of a team like this. What he went through a couple years with surgeries and bouncing back. It's a testament to his character and how he works."
Mike Adams, Broncos safety: "We were ecstatic. Everyone was asking why we weren't running the ball and I was like, 'Yo, the record baby, the record.' Then, when he got it, we all just came out to congratulate him. We were so happy for him."
Champ Bailey, Broncos cornerback: "I'm glad he got his 51. He definitely deserves it. He puts the work in and I can't believe he did it in his 16th year. That's crazy. It's unbelievable. The guy is great."
Wade Phillips, Texans interim head coach: "The guy is a great quarterback, obviously. They came out throwing; 51 passes in one game. That's a lot of passes. The last one, I was surprised, but they threw it deep late in the game, but that's part of football."
J.J. Watt, Texans defensive lineman: "It's never fun to be on the opposite end of a record-breaking performance. The guy is a heck of a football player and you give credit where credit is due. There is a reason the guy should be MVP this year."
Knowshon Moreno, Broncos running back: "It's definitely very special. The man works at it every day and he's professional about it. He and the receivers all go over it every day and work on those things. So, it's a great accomplishment and he deserves it."
