KUSA - Snow flurries are winding down across northeast Colorado as sunshine returns to the Front Range, according to the Colorado weather forecast.

While the Denver metro area enjoys the beginning of a drying pattern, the mountains will continue to see snow.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday for the Elkhead and Park mountains above 7,500 feet.  Heavy snow is expected to produce an additional 5 to 10 inches by Tuesday afternoon.

A High Wind Warning is in effect from 5 p.m. this afternoon to 9 a.m. Tuesday in southern Wyoming. Wind gusts could top off around 65mph.

Daytime highs peak in the 40s Monday with 50s for Christmas Eve.  The next shot of snow in the metro area is Saturday evening.
