USA TODAY - While previous wrangling over budget deals led to a government shutdown, the path toward this month's agreement hasn't been quite as dramatic (at least not in the same way).
Our parks are still open (which one late-night comic laments), and government employees aren't left wondering where their next paychecks will be coming from.
Instead, we're witnessing drama of a different sort: a very public breakdown of the Republican Party. There's been enough finger-pointing among the GOP and attempted marginalization of the Tea Party to rival any overly scripted reality TV show to date.
And to top it all off, House Speaker John Boehner, according to one comedian, has himself a new catchphrase. Do the words "Are you kidding me?" sound familiar? Merchandising has already begun.
