1 victim ID'd in Denver double homicide

DENVER - Denver police have identified one of the victims in a double homicide.

The bodies of Alexander Tower, 37, and another man were found shot dead inside a home during a burglary call Thursday. The name of the other man will be released once next of kin have been notified.

The deaths are being investigated as a homicide and appear to be an isolated case. They were found shot in a home is located in the 1900 block of Trenton Street in East Denver.

Officers arrived at the home around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Police do not know how long the men were inside the house before they were discovered. 

Police radio traffic indicates a man came home to find the house ransacked and the backdoor open.

The man who reported the incident also told a 911 dispatcher there was an unfamiliar car in the driveway of the home, according to police radio traffic obtained from

Police obtained a search warrant late Thursday evening.

"Officers did enter the residence and discovered two dead bodies, but at this time, it doesn't appear that we need to alert the community that there is an active shooter going around," Raquel Lopez with the Denver Police Department said.
