KUSA - Peyton Manning will join four other Broncos at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii - if they do not make it to the Super Bowl.
Manning was chosen for the 13th time which ties him for second most all-time and he also received the most votes from fans (1.4 million). Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (2nd), offensive lineman Louis Vasquez (1st), tight end Julius Thomas (1st) and kicker Matt Prater (1st) also earned the trip to Hawaii.
"I'm happy for them. With team success comes some individual attention," head coach John Fox said Friday.
Eight Broncos are also considered alternates including guard Zane Beadles, safety David Bruton, wide receiver Eric Decker, linebacker Von Miller, running back Knowshon Moreno, center Manny Ramirez, cornerback Dominquie Rodgers-Cromartie and wide receiver Wes Welker.
For the first time in Pro Bowl history Broncos teammates could be playing against one another. The new Pro Bowl format entails a draft of players that are selected instead of the normal AFC vs. NFC match-up that has taken place since 1971.
The Pro Bowl will take place the week prior to the Super Bowl - on January, 26. The players from the two teams that participate in that final game will not play in the Pro Bowl.
