DENVER - The Denver Dumb Friends League medical and surgical center named the Roath Medical Center is open in the 2000 block of South Quebec Street. 9NEWS had a behind-the-scenes look Monday morning.
The center serves homeless pets at their shelters, as well as pets adopted from the Dumb Friends League that are returned for treatment after being adopted.
The medical center has four prep tables, three surgery tables, a digital dental X-ray machine, a digital full-body X-ray machine and a team of highly-trained veterinarians and technicians.
The Denver Dumb Friends League spends $7,965 daily on veterinary care in their two shelters and their two mobile clinics. Commonly, the Denver Dumb Friends League sees about nearly 7,000 spay/neuter surgeries a year and more than 1,500 dental surgeries annually.
