KUSA - Colorado's population grew at nearly double the national rate from April 2010 - July 2013, adding nearly 240,000 people.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau the state's growth rate ranks fifth in the nation. Almost 5.27 million people live in Colorado.

Trends show most of the growth in the front range around Denver, Colorado Springs, and Weld County.

9NEWS Political Reporter Brandon Rittiman is going through the census report that was released Monday morning.

Rittiman notes that growth brings economic activity and jobs, but also congestion and more demand for housing.

He asks, would you rather our state's population keep booming or slow down?

Answer this question in the comments. Your answers may be used as part of Rittiman's report during 9NEWS at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
