DENVER (AP) - Denver prosecutors filed charges against a 37-year-old man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a woman on Christmas Day.
Prosecutors allege Johnny Gilbert ran a red light and crashed into a car with a family at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The family was returning home from a Christmas Eve celebration.
Killed in the crash was 35-year-old Dora Gaytan-Esparza. Her two children and husband were injured.
Gilbert faces charges including vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and driving under the influence. He remains in jail on $50,000 bail and he's due in court Thursday to be advised of the charges.
