DENVER - Permanent signs are going up in downtown Denver Tuesday afternoon, reminding residents and tourists about important details pertaining to Colorado's legalization of marijuana that goes into effect on New Year's Day.

The signs will list the 21-year-old age and other requirements related to marijuana possession and use including that it's illegal to use, display or transfer marijuana anywhere on the 16th Street Mall.

The signs will be posted at four spots along the 16th Street Mall and on California Street.
