FORT COLLINS - Fort Collins police on New Year's Eve were investigating a stabbing in Old Town that left one man seriously injured.

The victim was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with what appeared to be serious injuries, police said.

The incident happened about 11 p.m. on Linden Street outside Refuge Tattoo. Blood stained the brick paver sidewalk and yellow police tape cordoned off the area.

On either side, revelers at the Blind Pig, East Coast and Elliot's celebrated the end of 2013 as dance music pumped into the cool night air.

As of 11:30 PM, police had detained four people but did not yet know their relationship to the victim, if any.

Police said they chased at least one suspect around the corner from Linden onto Riverside south toward Mountain before catching him.
