Most popular photo locations on Instagram in 2013

USA TODAY - Quick, name the place you think was geo-tagged the most on Instagram in the past year? If you guessed a random shopping mall in Thailand -- over all the world's most popular tourist attractions -- give yourself a "like."

Siam Paragon Shopping Mall in Bangkok ranks as the #1 overall place for a shared photo in 2013, beating New York's Times Square for top honors. But outside of the Bangkok airport, it was the only place outside of North America on Instagram's list.

As in the recent list of Top Facebook check-ins for 2013, Disney figures prominently on Instagram, with theme parks in Anaheim and Orlando finishing in the top 5.

Los Angeles sports fans are clearly big Instagrammers, with both the Staples Center and Dodger Stadium in the top 10. In New York, Central Park and The High Line drew the most uploads.

The photo-sharing app, which receives around 55 million uploads a day, also released the most geo-tagged locations in the U.S. and cities worldwide. See the complete lists below.
