WELD COUNTY - Colorado Rockies co-owner Charlie Monfort pleaded guilty to drunk driving during his Weld County court appearance Friday.

He was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation which includes alcohol treatment, 120 hours of public service and 45 days of electronic home monitoring with a device that detects alcohol.

In November 2013, Monfort had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit when he was pulled over for speeding in Windsor.

Monfort took a breath test and recorded a breath alcohol concentration level of 0.284. The legal limit for DUI is 0.08.

According to an arrest affidavit, Monfort initially told police he had two beers, but later admitted he'd had more than that.

In a statement he said he was disappointed in himself for putting other people at risk.
