KUSA - Many people who don't have the flu are battling a nasty cold. Sometimes it comes and goes quickly, but other times that cold seems to stick around and only gets worse.
9Health Reporter Dr. John Torres explained when it's time to call the doctor.
"The rule of thumb is 24 to 48 hours," Dr. John Torres told 9NEWS.
Dr. Torres said if you cannot hold your liquids down, you should call your doctor immediately.
The flu has been spreading quickly across the country. At last check from the Centers for Disease Control, Wyoming is Colorado's closest neighbor with widespread activity.
