DENVER - The blizzard on the East Coast is impacting travelers all over the country, including members of a Colorado high school band.
The Legend High School band is stuck in Jacksonville, Fla. and may not be able to get home until Jan. 7 or 8. The band performed at the Gator Bowl on New Year's Day.
The group of 75 was supposed to fly home Thursday, Jan. 2, but the Southwest Airlines flight was canceled because of the storm.
Orlando Otis, the band's director, tells 9NEWS the airline helped the band find an affordable hotel, so they didn't have to stay at the airport.
Unfortunately, the airline can't get the entire group on a flight until Jan. 7 or 8. Otis says the school district's travel agent has been calling other airlines in nearby cities, but the story remains the same.
Otis says the students have been great. They are all simply trying to make the best of a bad situation.
