DENVER - The Legend High School marching band from Parker is finally coming home after a long journey.
The band, which performed at the Gator Bowl on New Year's Day, has been stuck in Jacksonville, Fla. because of the massive storm on the East Coast.
The group of 75 was supposed to fly home Thursday, Jan. 2, but Southwest Airlines canceled their flight because of the weather.
They were trying to fly home together but were forced to split up because of the size of the group.
The first group of students is set to arrive at DIA Monday, Jan. 6. Four other groups of students will arrive throughout the day on Jan. 7. The largest group arrives at 11:25 a.m.
The band's director, Orlando Otis, tells 9NEWS the students have had a great attitude about the situation and have been making the best of the extra time in Florida.
Over the weekend, they went to see the movie "Frozen" and played board games in the hotel's lobby. Some of the students even learned how to play Cribbage and Bunco.
