Attempted kidnapping in Aurora

AURORA - Aurora Police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping from Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday at 3:20 p.m., a 13-year-old girl reported that while walking home from school, she noticed a suspicious car near East 13th Avenue and Moline Street.

The girl saw the car drive past her several more times as she continued to walk home but eventually lost sight of the car. As she walked near East 16th Avenue and Oswego Street, she saw the car parked along East 16th Avenue.

Once she walked past the car, the driver got out and grabbed her arm. The victim was able to pull away and run away as the car fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 30s to early 40s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches with a medium build. He was wearing a blue baseball hat with "New York" in white lettering, a light-gray zippered hoodie and khaki pants.

He was driving a newer model Chevy Cruze (or similar style) four-door, light-colored gray or brown, tinted windows with a temporary license plate displayed in the rear window.
