KUSA - A woman facing charges in a fatal hit-and-run crash is expected to appear in court Friday.

Kiki Douglas is accused of being an accessory to crime and false reporting.

The charges allege Douglas and another woman lied to police and assisted hit-and-run suspect Latoya Nelson following the deadly crash at 13th Avenue and Kalamath Street which killed Charlie Herrera.

Herrera, 85, had just left a nearby grocery store after picking up a few things for his wife, who had just left the hospital, when the crash occurred in March 2013.

Nelson was charged earlier with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, criminal impersonation and third-degree assault.
