KUSA - Wes Welker is focusing on playing well Sunday, and the Denver Broncos slot receiver said Friday he is excited to get back on the field.
Welker hasn't played since Dec. 8 when he sustained his second concussion of the season. He'll make his return Sunday when the Broncos play at home against San Diego in the divisional game.
"I don't worry about the concussion or anything like that," Welker said after practice. "I just focus on my assignment and my technique and get out there and play the best I can."
He missed the Broncos' Dec. 12 loss to the Chargers at Sports Authority Field, but right after the regular season ended Welker was cleared to practice again.
"It's one of the first times I've been on the sidelines (out injured) for a game," Welker said. "I'm very anxious to get back."
He's been out for a month, but he's been practicing the past two weeks with the added advantage of the bye last week.
"I'm just excited to be out here with the guys and practicing and get ready for the game on Sunday," said Welker.
