KUSA - Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez underwent surgery for appendicitis Friday night after feeling 'strong stomach pain'.
Gonzalez is recovering and is in stable condition, he updated his status through his Twitter account.
The two-time All-Star had a .302 batting average with 26 home runs and 70 RBI. Gonzalez is entering his sixth season with the club. He signed a contract extension with Colorado that will keep him here through 2020.
Rockies players are scheduled to report to spring training on February 22 and Gonzalez is expected to be there for that.
