USA TODAY - PASADENA, Calif.--Mad Men will return for the first of its two final seven-episode seasons on April 13, and Better Call Saul, a Breaking Bad spinoff focused on the smarmy lawyer played by Bob Odenkirk, arrives in November, AMC announced Saturday.

Channel chief Charlie Collier outlined the network's 2014 lineup for TV critics, saying he's often asked how he plans to replace Bad and Mad, and the answer is, "We can't." But he's managed to extend their lives by splitting final seasons across two years and, in Bad's case, mapping a spinoff. (Another is in the planning stages for cable's biggest hit, The Walking Dead, though that series won't likely end anytime soon).

New this year is Turn, a spy thriller set during the Revolutionary War, and Halt and Catch Fire, a 1980s period drama starring Lee Pace as a computer visionary. And Saul, an hourlong series that's a Bad prequel of sorts-it's set before he met Bryan Cranston's Walter White-will have a tone that's by turns both serious and comic, Collier says.

AMC's scripted-series lineup:

--The Walking Dead returns Feb. 9 (Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT)

--Turn (April 6, Sundays at 9 ET/PT)

--Mad Men (April 13, Sundays at 10 ET/PT)

--Halt and Catch Fire (June, Sundays)

--Hell on Wheels (Summer, Saturdays)

--The Walking Dead (October, Sundays)

--Better Call Saul (November, Sundays)
