DENVER - Denver transportation companies and drivers teamed up on Tuesday morning and rallied in front of the Colorado Capitol building.
They united against ride-sharing transportation companies like Uber and Lyft.
The goal of the rally was to encourage city and state officials to enforce a cease-and-desist request by the city's office of excise and licensing and the Denver Taxi and Limousine Council that was sent to Denver Mayor Michael Hancock's office in early December 2013.
According to these groups, Uber and Lyft do not properly license or check the background of drivers in their services.
