COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say three people murdered in Rye last November were dead at least five hours before their house was set on fire.

According to court records obtained by The Pueblo Chieftain, investigators say Harry Mapps was about to be kicked out of a home in Rye before the murders.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says Mapps shot Kim and Reginald Tuttle in their bed and then shot their daughter, Dawn Roderick.

The sheriff's office says nine casings from the bullets used in the murders were placed in a pellet heater.

The door to the heater was left open with clothes placed around the stove. Mapps was arrested in Roland, Okla., in December.

He faces 18 felony charges, including six counts of first-degree murder.
