AURORA - The famous chihuahua Millie, better known as the mother of puppy Miracle has recovered from her surgery successfully and found a new home Tuesday.
Millie, who was brought to the Aurora Animal Shelter in deep distress labor has found a happy ending to her story.
Her puppy's story is considered to be a miracle. The veterinary staff worked for 10 minutes on saving Miracle's life. The puppy was not breathing or moving when she was born.
Millie had an infection and had a hard to trying to deliver the puppy naturally. She was in critical condition at the time and it was not certain whether or not she would make it.
After about 45 minutes, the stillborn puppy Miracle started moving and crying for its mother. The puppy was named Miracle because of her story.
Unfortunately, the puppy did not make it and died back in December. The animal shelter says she died from a "failure to thrive."
Millie however met her new owner Tuesday, Mary Yust from Littleton.
The shelter says Yust came with plenty of goodies for Millie.
After a long struggle, Millie finally has her happy ending.
