FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Residents who live northwest of Fort Collins say thieves have stolen checks and credit cards from their mail.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday some of the credit cards and checks have been used fraudulently. A news release provided no details, and a sheriff's spokesman didn't immediately return a call.
The sheriff's department says one of the mail theft victims is Canyon Utilities, a trash and recycling business in Poudre Canyon. Officials asked residents who have recently mailed payments to the company to check to make sure they arrived.
Authorities didn't say how many people and businesses have had mail stolen.
