KUSA - Peyton Manning's free marketing pitch for Anheuser-Busch is prompting Colorado breweries to change the course of Manning's palate.
Craft brewers across Colorado were miffed at Manning's hankering for a lighter, not-from-Colorado brewskie following the Broncos divisional playoff win over the San Diego Chargers.
That has not deterred one Boulder brewery's support for the Denver Broncos. They hope their new ale will swing Manning's beer of choice to the dark side.
West Flanders Brewery is releasing an AFC Championship ale "Brett on the Broncos" Thursday in support of the Denver Broncos run to the Super Bowl in a win-or-go-home match-up with the New England Patriots.
"I'm hoping that his palate can grow and expand," West Flanders Brewery's Marty Jones told 9News.
Jones says this is no light beer, but he remains confident that not only will the Broncos get the "W" Sunday, but that Manning will change his beer preference.
"It might put an end to his affection [for light beer]," he said.
"Brett on the Broncos" will debut for fans starting Thursday at 5 p.m., and Manning is on the invite list.
"We'd all like to drink a beer with Peyton Manning, wouldn't we?" he said.
