Mines Akindele taken 6th overall in MLS Draft

KUSA - Colorado School of Mines Tesho Akindele was drafted No. 6 overall by FC Dallas in the Major League Soccer Draft.

Akindele becomes the highest player drafted in Division II history. He was a two-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and holds the conference record for goals in a career with 76. He accounted for 185 points, 33 assists and 19 game-winning goals in his four with the Orediggers.

The midfielder becomes the first player in Mines men's soccer history to be drafted into the MLS.

FC Dallas and Akindele will travel to play the Colorado Rapids for the first time on September 18th
