KUSA - The Broncos only sold tickets to people in the Rocky Mountain region --Colorado and seven nearby states, but that hasn't stopped Patriots fans. They were out in force Saturday, many straight from New England with tickets in hand.

Colorado has its share of Pats fans too, but the cost of tickets still made them out of reach for some.

"I couldn't really afford to go to the game, but I wanted to come here just to enjoy the atmosphere," said Ft. Carson soldier Gary Tetreault, who came to Denver with his wife and kids to attend the Pikes Peak Pats party at Kate Mullen Irish Pub Saturday.

That's where he met Marine veteran Brian Miller, a Patriots fan in from Massachusetts. It was a fast friendship, and Miller said he was immediately impressed by Tetreault's dedication to his country and family.

"The way you look at your kids and the way they look at you---there's nothing better than that, man," Miller said to Tetreault.

Then the stranger from New England pulled the soldier and his wife aside.

"He told me, 'Thank you for your service to your country,'" recalled Tetreault. "Told me and my wife, 'I purchased your tickets to tomorrow's game.' It's just amazing to me that there are people out there who would do something like that."

Miller and the Tetreault will attend the game together, and while they might not be the most welcome guests at Sports Authority Field, inside that stadium will be a bond and a gift that maybe even a Broncos fan can smile about.
