USA TODAY - Emma Thompson has been so funny at every awards show she's hit this season.
The most recent: the Screen Actors Guild awards on Saturday night.
The actress hit the red carpet wearing flats. It only makes sense given that she has been denouncing high heels since the National Board of Review ceremony earlier this month.
From the stage there, she said, "I've taken my heels off as a feminist statement really, because why do we wear them? They're so painful. And pointless, really. You know, I really would like to urge everyone to stop it. Just stop it. Don't wear them anymore."
And at the Golden Globes, she went shoeless on stage, carrying a martini in one hand and her Louboutin heels in another. She threw them over her shoulder when it came time to present the award.
And at the SAGs, she wore gold flats. "They're so beautiful and I'm so happy," she told E! News' Giuliana Rancic of the Louboutins. "They just happen to be gorgeous," she added with a smile.
No doubt they helped make it all the easier for her to photobomb Lupita Lyong'o.
