KUSA - Has your pet ever been in a life-threatening situation, and you didn't have the resources to accurately provide on-site emergency care?
A new mobile application from the American Red Cross puts life-saving skills in the hands of pet owners. The new app would provide emergency tips and resources that can help pet owners care for their furry friends until they are able to access veterinary aid.
The new app is called the Pet First Aid and allows Android and iPhone customers to gain immediate access to expert information regarding what to do in an emergency and how to maintain the overall health of their pet.
Some additional features on the app include: early warning signs for when to contact a veterinarian, an animal hospital locator, a step-by-step guide for first-aid emergencies, and emergency-relief plans.
The app can be found in the Google Play Store for Android users and in the Apple App Store for iPhone users by searching for American Red Cross or by visiting redcross.org/mobileapps.
