LONGMONT - Two people who police say are connected to a string of car break ins at day care centers were arrested Wednesday.

Brighton police arrested Christopher Ureste and Bianca Montiel at a Best Western Hotel. Police said a hotel employee recognized the two from television reports.

Police said the couple targeted cars at day cares in Longmont and several other cities like Broomfield and Thornton.

When parents took their child inside the building, they allegedly stole the mothers' purses and ran. They then make purchases with the stolen credit cards, police said.

Police say they even entered a car while a child was still inside.

They were arrested without incident. Police also recovered stolen property connecting them to Longmont and other thefts.
