JEFFERSON COUNTY - Some parents of students at Dakota Ridge High School are not allowing their kids to attend school because a man who made a threat against Dakota Ridge High School is not in police custody.
Jacki Kelley of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the 18-year-old man was arrested on Jan. 18, due to a charge related to that threat and a harassment issue involving a Dakota Ridge student.
Kelley said the man was never at the school and they are hopeful the ankle monitor he was released with will keep him away from the school. She said that the ankle monitor is equipped with an alarm that will sound if he is near the school.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said they are taking the threat very seriously.
