LAKEWOOD - Three weeks ago Friday, Felicia Gonzalez came home to find her baby and her mother dead.
"We just want to find whoever did this and get justice," she said.
The family laid their loved ones to rest Friday.
Gonzalez's brother-in-law said the family is concerned they're not getting any information from the Adams County Sheriff's Office.
"It was just tragic. She came home from work and they were both dead in the apartment," Sonny Cisneros said. "We don't have answers. We want to get to the bottom of this, because there is a monster out there, somebody real evil did this."
The Adams County Sheriff's Office hasn't said what happened or how 18-month-old Fabian and his grandmother, Raelynn Gonzalez, died.
The family said the murders were brutal.
"They say they're working around the clock non-stop. If that's the case, they can at least tell us [what little] they have. They ain't telling us nothing," Cisneros said.
Depending on the case, it's common for detectives to keep details of an open investigation hidden.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office issued the following statement Friday:
"The sheriff's office is diligently working on this investigation. The family, friends and public can be assured that we are using all of our resources to investigate this crime. We are open to any communication or information the family would like to offer. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all who are affected by this tragedy."
The family says they just want to know who did this and why.
"They're still out there. We can't sleep at night knowing the person is still out there that did this to a baby and a grandmother," Cisneros said. "How can you sleep with yourself?"
That answer may come if and when there is an arrest.
